Back pain has become an increasing global problem and is now the leading cause of disability globally. The latest numbers tell us that more than 3.7 million Australians experience back pain, and 60-80% of all adults will experience some level of back problems during their lifetime, so you might be one of them or will be in the future?! It was just recently in the Australian news, that lots of given treatments for back pain are not helping, but it is significantly proven that movement with strengthening back and core (for your back/core and more) can help. So, what are scientific researched facts you shout know about, to help you tackle your back pain in the most effective way? 1 Spinal imaging is inappropriate for non-specific low back pain. We know that the outcomes are not clinical significant correlated with back pain/problem and sometimes results in more confusion for the person. Actually, people over 40-50 have frequently “abnormalities” like disk degeneration, bulging discs or joint arthritis. Don’t get me wrong, scans have a place and time to effectively show fractures and discover serious illnesses like cancer, but for non-specific lower back pain a MRI is not conclusive and not needed for setting up a treatment. 53% of people between 30-60 are found with bulging discs, around 30% with herniated discs and yet these people are pain free!!! *Brinjikj et al AM J Neuroradiol. 2015
